A Poet’s Space with Simone Ziel

A Poet’s space ‘a place where spoken word artists have a space to express themselves.’

Simone created a new ‘digital platform exploring different poets and spoken word artists and giving them a place to perform.’

Influenced by Button poetry and tiny desk concert in America. A Poet’s Space is a place one studio where artists perform various spoken word poems and explore different voices.

Simone started writing poetry in her early secondary school career and her passion for poetry continued through university with a spoken word society called Soul flow.

Her poetry has explored themes of love, Heartbreak, racism colourism and relationships.

She says ‘every spoken word is a poem but every poem is not as spoken word it’s the way they are performed. There is another level of vulnerability’

Her advice to young poets or writers is to ‘write without thinking’ and I have never heard a bad poem’

A Poet’s Space first episode is out today on Youtube
