Kenya’s Chief Justice warns of plan to control the judiciary

Kenya’s Chief Justice David Maraga has accused the executive arm of government of wanting to control the judiciary in a rare press conference.

Mr Maraga said that recent budget cuts had stalled operations in the judiciary leading to stalled services.

He said the judiciary has been forced to suspend court of appeal sessions in four major towns, as well as close operations of the mobile courts.
