Somalia opposition parties form new coalition

Ten opposition political parties in Somalia say they have formed a new coalition ahead of elections which are due next year.

The Forum For National Parties includes the former presidents Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed.

A spokesman for the group said the politicians would work together to resolve the current political and security issues that the country is facing.

President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo is expected to seek re-election.Article share tools
